Olivia Wilde and Emma Stone Named Revlon Ambassadors

They’re no strangers to glamming it up on the red carpet, and now, beauties Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde will be glamming it up together as the new global brand ambassadors for Revlon. The up-and-coming actresses will appear in various television, print and digital campaigns beginning in early 2012.

“Revlon recognizes that every woman is multifaceted and magnificent in their own way and the expression of individuality is as important to Revlon as it is to me,” Stone, who has been known to experiment with makeup in the past, said in a statement. And for her, the connection to the brand stems from childhood. “I have been familiar with Revlon for as long as I can remember,” she added. “I vividly recall my mom wearing Revlon makeup and I remember getting to the age when I was finally able to wear Revlon myself.”

For Wilde, being the face of a brand that’s committed to helping others was key. “I have always admired Revlon and their commitment to giving women the confidence and tools they need to feel beautiful, both inside and out,” she said. “Creatively, Revlon has never been afraid to push the envelope, which is important to me. I also love that they use their tremendous recognizability around the world to do good as one of the industry’s biggest champions of women’s health. It’s exciting to join a company with a big heart and big ideas!”

The duo’s first campaigns will be tied to the launch of new color cosmetics and nail enamel products. They’ll also participate in Revlon’s fundraising efforts for women’s health issues; the brand has raised more than $65 million for women’s cancer research in the past 10 years.

Olivia Wilde to play reduced role on ‘House’

House creator David Shore has confirmed that Olivia Wilde will play a minimal role in the show’s eighth season.

The Cowboys & Aliens star plays Dr. Remy ‘Thirteen’ Hadley on the Fox medical drama, but appeared in just seven episodes last season due to her film commitments.

“[She will] not [appear] a lot [next season] unfortunately,” Shore told TV Line. “She’s a movie star.”

He added that Wilde is currently expected to appear in “something like” one or two episodes of the new run.

“I regret losing her, but, again, this was not our choice,” he said. “Things happened at the end of last season that I wasn’t happy about and I hadn’t planned for.”

However, Shore insisted that he is “very happy” with the coming season, which will introduce new regular characters played by Odette Annable and Charlyne Yi.

“This has turned out to be a real opportunity,” he claimed. “We’re really doing some cool stuff at the start of the season and it’s pumped some fresh blood into the show.”

House will return to Fox on October 3.

Olivia Wilde to Play Porn Star Linda Lovelace?

Olivia Wilde as a porn star?

It’s certainly a possibility.

And not just any porn star. We’re talking the late Linda Lovelace, who helped bring porn to the mainstream with the hit 1970s X-rated flick Deep Throat.

Wilde exclusively tells me…

She is considering starring in Lovelace, a biopic form Oscar-winning codirectors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. Recent reports wrongly claimed she was already signed on for the racy role. In April, it was reported that James Franco was being wooed by his Howl collaborators Epstein and Friedman for the project, too.

“It would be a tremendous honor,” Wilde said last night at Nylon magazine’s denim issue party at the Mondrian’s Sky Bar in West Hollywood. “It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman—with where she came from to Deep Throat to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It’s really fascinating.” (She’s obviously done her research.)

This is separate from another Lovelace movie with Malin Akerman, who replaced Lindsay Lohan in the starring role.

“I’m being very careful about my next project since I’m now in a position where I can be really picky—thank God, finally,” Wilde said.

Meanwhile, Wilde continues her humanitarian work with the launch of Operation Happiness, a nonprofit encouraging young people to help the less fortunate. “It’s to engage young people to dedicate part of their lives to giving,” she explained. “In a generation chock full of anti-depressants, we really believe that the path to happiness for some of them may not be through medication but by turning their energy outward and giving to those who need more than they do.”

The group is set to release a line of “products for a purpose,” Wilde said. Proceeds from a new Alternative Apparel backpack will benefit The Academy for Peace and Justice, a free secondary school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
