Filmmaker Spike Jonze is apparently not content to just settle for the most talented cast in Hollywood to join his next film. Evidently he wants the most beautiful one as well. In a Deadline report about Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions landing international rights from for Jonze’s next untitled project, the trade drops the little nugget of info that Olivia Wilde has also joined the cast.
Already starring Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Amy Adams and Samantha Morton, the Jonze-pennd project apparently revolves around a man who falls in love with a Siri-like computer voice presumably on an iPhone device. The addition of Wilde makes the already-anticipated film all the more enticing.
Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures are producing and they struck the deal with SPWA. The picture will be Jonze’s first since 2009’s “Where the Wild Things Are” and his first solo-written original screenplay. Though Jonze did pen the short film “I’m Here” about two robots who fall in love with each other (starring Andrew Garfield and Sienna Guillory) and co-wrote ‘Wild Things.’
