Gravitas nabs “The Longest Week”

Gravitas Ventures has acquired all U.S. rights to Peter Glanz’s directorial debut “The Longest Week”, a comedy that stars Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde, Billy Crudup and Jenny Slate.

The film will be released theatrically and on VOD on September 5.

Glanz’s script is based on his short film “A Relationship in Four Days,” which played both Cannes and Sundance.

Bateman stars as Conrad Valmont, heir to a hotel fortune, who is cut off from his allowance following his parents abrupt divorce and tossed out into the unforgiving streets of the Upper West Side. Luckily, he is taken in by his old friend Dylan (Crudup), and returns the favor by immediately falling for Dylan’s girlfriend Beatrice (Wilde). As Conrad attempts to woo Beatrice while keeping both their relationship and his bank balance secret, Dylan tries to set him up with Jocelyn (Slate). Committed to the charade that he eventually finds difficult to maintain, Conrad quickly realizes his charm can only extend so far into debt.

“‘The Longest Week’ and the performances of Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde and Billy Crudup offer a refreshing new perspective on a timeless love triangle. With the film, Peter Glanz follows in the great tradition of Woody Allen, Whit Stillman and Wes Anderson in incisively and hilariously portraying the challenges of falling in and out of love in Manhattan” remarked Gravitas Ventures founder/CEO Nolan Gallagher.

“Upon hearing Gravitas Ventures strategy for the film, we realized immediately that they are at the cutting edge of independent film distribution and would do a fantastic job with this film,” said YRF Entertainment CEO Uday Chopra.

YRF Entertainment (“Grace of Monaco”) financed “The Longest Week” and produced in association with Armian Pictures, Atlantic Pictures, and Far Hills. The film was produced by Uday Chopra and Neda Armian, and executive produced by Jonathan Reiman, Chris Marsh, Stone Douglass and Taylor Materne executive produced.

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde Welcome Son Otis Alexander

It’s a boy for Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Otis Alexander Sudeikis has LEFT the building! (I’m the building),” she wrote, sharing a photo of herself cuddling her newborn.

Wilde, 30, embraced her growing curves, dressing it up on the red carpet at awards shows and posting playful pics of her bump on Instagram. “Sure I’ve looked like this after Mexican food, but this time it’s a BABY,” she joked in March.

The Her star and Saturday Night Live alum, 38, who got engaged in January 2013, announced that they were expecting last October. Wilde later revealed that they were having a boy.

“They are incredibly happy,” a source close to the pair told PEOPLE last year. “They’re very excited to welcome a new member into their family.”

The campaign encourages young people to give their old and worn-out clothing a new life through recycling.

From April 17 to June 20, young people can collect old and worn-out clothing in their schools and communities and drop them off in garment recycling bins at any H&M store. All brands and all conditions will be accepted. H&M will send these clothes to a recycling facility, where they will be given a new life. The vast majority of fabric can be recycled, yet 85% of all textiles end up in landfills each year–that’s 11.1 million tons, the equivalent of over 70 billion t-shirts.

All participants that send a photo of themselves dropping off their unwanted clothing to will automatically be entered to win a $10,000 scholarship, and receive a 15% discount off their entire next purchase. “We are proud of the achievements made since we launched our garment recycling initiative last year at H&M. We are also aware of the challenges ahead, which is why we have partnered with We want to positively affect the environment by offering our customers a convenient way to recycle,” says Daniel Kulle, U.S. President for H&M.

“Everyone has a t-shirt with a coffee stain that sits in the back of her closet,” says Nancy Lublin, CEO and “Chief Old Person” at “Comeback Clothes is awesome because it’s an easy way for young people to help the planet and repurpose all of those single socks.”

Actress, activist, and Conscious Commerce co-founder, Olivia Wilde recorded a public service announcement for the campaign as “Princess Layers,” a super-ish hero with the ability to remove a layer of clothing only to reveal… another layer of clothing. The power is not great at fighting crime, but perfect for recycling clothing.

“I’m excited to work with and H&M to encourage our generation to recycle old clothing with Comeback Clothes,” says Olivia Wilde. “Their message is very much in line with the philosophy behind my company, Conscious Commerce, which encourages young people to live an overall more conscious lifestyle and leave our world in a better state than how we found it. Recycling old clothes is a wonderful and deliberate choice that positively affects our world, and I’m proud to help that cause!”

To celebrate this partnership on Earth Day, H&M will have a pop up sustainability booth in Union Square Park in NYC on Tuesday, April 22. Vistors will be encouraged to recycle their old and unwanted pieces of clothing at the booth.

Following Earth Day, H&M will take this message coast to coast, popping up at 3 major college campuses. Volunteer students and H&M staff will bring students to an exciting and interactive experience in a mobile showroom where they can not only drop off their garments and learn more about the Comeback Clothes campaign, but also get stylized and star in their very own short video which will be featured on the H&M Loves Music Tumblr page!

The college stops are as follows:

April 23-24 from 11AM-7PM at UCLA
April 30-May 1 from 11AM-7PM at the University of Texas, Austin
May 6-7 from 11AM-6PM at Penn State

The project is based on an idea from Rolling Stones frontman Jagger — who conceived the entry as a film first at Disney and then at Paramount. Olivia Wilde’s RYOT Blends News and Activism

With stories of natural disasters, acts of violence, and political corruption flooding news outlets every day, it’s easy to think that society is falling apart. In fact, cultural theorist George Gerbner coined the term “mean world syndrome” to describe the phenomenon of people perceiving the world as more violent and dangerous than it really is because of the news. While many people simply sit back and shake their heads when they read about these events, actress and political activist Olivia Wilde thinks people should be doing something about them.

The 29-year-old “TRON” and “House M.D.” star founded to help readers get involved in the news. Wilde, the daughter of two journalists, launched her cutting-edge news outlet with the intention of providing both information on important global stories and causes, and the means to contribute directly to helping them.

“RYOT is a chance for people to read the news and then participate in it, to approach news actively instead of passively,” said Wilde in an AOL “Acting Disruptive” video. “We create ways that you can immediately participate in some way to help the situation.”

According to the RYOT website’s About page, the name RYOT is not an acronym, but comes from the Hindi word for “peasant,” an untouchable person without a voice, as well as the Martin Luther King Jr. quote, “A riot is the language of the unheard.” The philosophy behind the organization is that anyone can make an impact, no matter who they are, through productive, organized effort rather than succumbing to chaos.

Wilde told AOL host Max Lugavere that RYOT allows readers to understand their responsibility as citizens. An “action” box accompanies each article published on the site, giving anyone the opportunity to make a positive impact on the issue at hand. Some stories link to donation pages, while others allow readers to sign a petition or simply share the article on social media to raise awareness. Wilde believes that this new model of journalism will particularly appeal to millennials.

“I think you see a lot of people of our generation finding interesting ways of approaching the world of philanthropy,” she said. “Technology has changed the way we approach entertainment in all ways. It’s become much more interactive. It was only a matter of time before the news did the same.”

Learn more about RYOT, Wilde’s recent trip to Senegal to work with health care agencies and her insights into social responsibility in this edition of “Acting Disruptive.”
